A successful hot runner system mold application project requires multiple links to ensure:
1. Correct selection of hot runner suppliers. As a plastic mold factory and plastic product injection molding factory, what kind of plastic products do you need to produce? What is the mold structure like? The batch size, production efficiency, and maintenance of molds and plastic products are all issues that need to be considered when choosing which supplier.
One option is to choose a manufacturer with rich professional experience and technical capabilities in the hot runner field, as the design scheme and manufacturing capability of the hot runner determine whether the mold trial is successful in one go when the mold manufacturer is relatively mature. The second is to choose a company with economies of scale, which has complete manufacturing processes and more complete supporting services with users. Both need to be combined in order to better serve users.
2. Correct selection of hot runner scheme.The temperature of plastic in the hot runner system should be average, and the flow should be balanced. It is essential for hot runner companies to use thermal balance and mold flow analysis software, while taking into account the practical experience of related mold manufacturing and injection molding, so that defects can be known early and overcome early. For example, what heating method to adopt, whether the heat distribution is balanced, the path and size of the flow channel, insulation and cooling, whether there is interference in the oil and gas path, and whether the gating method is reasonable can all reduce the number of mold trials and even lower the cost of mold trials.
3. Is the material used for the hot runner suitable for the situation. In terms of different characteristics of plastic materials and different mold structures, the materials used by the hot runner company themselves are also important, because in addition to balancing heat transfer, the design of the hot runner also needs to take into account insulation treatment, as well as factors such as ensuring high speed, high pressure, high temperature, and corrosion resistance.
4. Whether the hot runner processing and manufacturing are precise. The hot runner system is a combination that requires high machining accuracy for various accessories and has arbitrary interchangeability, so the machining accuracy must be standardized. The splitter plate requires high parallelism, smooth flow channels, and balanced flow channels without dead corners. There are special requirements for the concentricity and perpendicularity of the hot nozzle, and it should be smooth and free of dead corners. The matching requirements between the valve needle and valve sleeve are also quite precise and standardized.
5. Whether the mold processing and manufacturing are precise. The installation and coordination of the mold and hot runner parts require machining accuracy. The sealing position of the hot nozzle, the parallelism of the template, and the smoothness of the cylinder hole must ensure the machining tolerance range. Moreover, after multiple mold repairs in the future, it can ensure no deformation, and at the same time, it is necessary to protect the heating and temperature sensing lines from voids.
6. Can the hot runner be properly maintained and maintained. When injecting some fire-resistant plastic materials, if the machine is stopped for more than half an hour, it is best to set the temperature of the hot runner below the melting temperature. If the injection is made of easily carbonized and corrosive plastic, it is best to clean the injection molding machine and hot runner before stopping for mold repair or replacement. That is, use conventional plastic to pour into the injection molding machine to wash the material barrel and hot runner, and wait for the new material to be injected completely before the mold is removed from the machine. If it is not easy to change the color of the hot runner from dark to hot, the light colored plastic is also poured into the material barrel and hot runner before the mold is removed from the machine. After the light material is injected, the mold is removed and the hot runner is cleaned.
